• I just have to take a minute to write about my experience at flawless medspa. I am a client currently receiving laser hair removal services. My choice to pursue Laser hair removal was never for cosmetic purposes. For years I have struggled with folliculitis on certain areas and painful chronic ingrown hairs that seemed to plague my skin. I don’t just mean a few here and there, it’s something that has caused me so much shame and left me constantly feeling self-conscious. Not to mention they scar and darken parts my skin, leaving these horribly embarrassing marks. Waxing, tweezing, threading, hair removal creams, shaving, epilators...nothing could be done without triggering the ingrowns. I tried everything as far as preventative measures as well, from intense exfoliation, moisturization, and an absolute fortune spent on skin products but nothing ever resulted in a solution to my problem. It was just a constant battle and some days I felt absolutely defeated. When I began considering the option for laser hair removal as recommended by my dermatologist, I was worried about the costs associated with the service because I knew it would be completely out of my budget. Also, laser hair removal can be extremely painful and discouraged depending on your complexion and race, and I am mixed race medium skin tone with very coily curly dark hair. I guess the darker you are the harder it gets in terms of pain and laser safety because of the melanin. Nevertheless, I was willing to try anything at that point becauae I knew I could not continue to live my life ashamed of my skin and my body. After some time, I noticed deals being offered through Groupon that put the option for laser hair removal within reach. I have to admit, I was slightly skeptical at first. I came across flawless medspa and immediately began to research the place. The reviews were amazing and everything about the information I had gathered showed that this would be worth investing in. I guess I can say the only catch is that this place is booked months in advance so getting an appointment in can be incredibly difficult, but completely worth it. I had my first treatment in July, 2018. It was originally for my Brazilian area, happy trail, mid chest and areolas. I lasted about 80% of the way before I had to stop, I couldn’t tolerate the pain from finishing the Brazilian so we settled for Bikini area instead. I’m not going to lie, it killed! And this past month I was finally able to get back in and go for round two. Unfortunately I had to move suddenly for work, so having to commute out of state has been such a hassle. Typically it’s 6-8 weeks you’d want to go back, and Flawless medspa has definitely tried to accommodate me in that sense because it truly has been difficult coordinating appointments with when I’ll be in town. But all this has been definitely worth it. This second round I just did has already drastically lessened the amount of hair in the areas I had the laser done. The tech was so patient and sweet to me. The place is super clean and all the staff is friendly. I was comfortable and relaxed in the room, and this time around the tech increased the setting on the laser to achieve more results but just enough where it wasn’t going to burn or damage my skin. She was very attentive and careful while working fairly quickly. This has been only my second time doing laser and my skin already looks so much more clear, I don’t even know what to say. I use a skin lightening cream prescribed to me for some of the dark spots and scars, but overall the ingrowns are disappearing! I cannot wait to see the final result. I have 4 more sessions ahead of me and I just could not be more content. Thank you flawless medspa, you are changing my life and I cannot wait for my next session!
