• I think this is an extremely welcoming community and the facility is spotless. HOWEVER, I want to say that I did not care for this particular class. I felt that the instructor was much more interested in being "challenging" as opposed to giving us a beautiful flow. Ordinarily I'm very much in the mindset that we get the class we need, but this was really too much. People were literally groaning and midway through, there were multiple people resting in child's pose and later just laying down in sivasana. And yet the instructor continued with a pace that was clearly too fast for some people to even register what the next pose was, all the while admonishing us to "stay in the pose, even though you're uncomfortable." Is there no room for adjusting in the moment when you realize that the class is just done? It felt very boot campy to me. Again, if the majority of the class had been really into it, I would have just thought I was having an off day or maybe this just isn't the instructor for me but the fact that everyone seemed less than in the flow tells me that she really should have been more generous and given her students what they needed rather than what she seemed to think we needed. Maybe she was trying something new? I'm sure she's a terrific teacher and a devoted yogi. And I'm always very grateful for any lesson I can learn when practicing. I don't need "easy" but I would like to be able to be in the meditative flow state. I literally found it hard to breathe into the poses.

• Every class I take, especially with Caryn, I am reminded that yoga is a practice of celebrating where your body and mind are moment by moment. The classes challenge each practitioner just as they need while celebrating exactly where they are in their journey.
