I often go to the Heights Location, but since I work outside of the beltway, I will patronize the Uptown location during week since it's closer, and when I really need to burn off the day!
And, I've been going to Empower Fitness Lab since August and love it!
Each workout is both challenging and different from the previous day.
I have only taken HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes here and often with Brandon. He is so encouraging, helpful, and fully competent.
Since I'm fairly new to working out regularly, Brandon has been amazingly kind and helpful when I struggle with exercises. He usually helps me either modify the workout or ensure I perform it correctly, so I don't hurt myself. Also, if I ever start to feel any pain during an exercise, I can always ask for an adjustment.
It's a really encouraging place that pushes me to limits I didn't know I had. I'm glad I found this place and stuck with it! I'm also super glad that my membership allows me to patronize both locations since I live and work on different sides of town; I can no longer use "distance" as an excuse for exercising.
Parking isn't the best in the shared mall parking lot, so please read the signs carefully (I've seen tow trucks).Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Annelise M.Houston, TX3069289Mar 7, 2019
I looove Empower Fitness Lab! Sometimes I drag myself there and I'm not really feeling like working out, but afterward I never regret it!!! It's so upbeat and positive and the trainers are helpful and motivating. I always feel better after I leave than when I came in. The workouts are challenging, but that's a good thing! I feel like a get a great workout. It also FLIES by!! I'm like, omg an hour?!?!? Then there are like 2 min left of class haha. And their facilities are great too and clean! Try it out!!

I so wish I could finally write a good review for this place...I truly do. But after a pretty serious injury I had to freeze my membership. I was very misinformed regarding the 60 day freeze and the fees which were associated with unfreezing and final cancellations. Each person I spoke with gave me different information and that was only after I finally got in touch with someone that could make an actual decision. I thought I was doing everything in the correct way to legitimately cancel me membership.
I absolutely loved the classes and trainers but the "front desk" staff and administrators are very inconsistent and not helpful. I would be very careful on how one communicates with the staff and make sure you follow up constantly. Customer service of the staff up front is sub par.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yas M.Houston, TX41714May 31, 2019
Started last week after a friend's recommendation and i really like it . It is a great workout and i like their Woodway treadmill ( the curve ) it doesn't hurt my joints and knees .the trainer Tayo is very attentive, has a great energy to bring in the class and keep you motivated and advice in correcting exercise when I'm not doing it right, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great and fun music :-)

Woke up this morning, happy, excited and ready to put in a workout before my trip to Europe.
Upon arrival I was asked my name and then told that because I came one minute before class that I would not be allowed to participate. Please also be advised that I was there 5 minutes before class started as I was coming from the west side.
My heart honestly hurts that I was denied a workout. I'm not sure what kind've business model or customer service that is being implemented at this studio, but it feels hurtful.
Imagine my humiliation to tell my friend who was already there that I could not participate in working out with her.
Empower recommends that if you are to come here for the first time that you come 30 minutes prior. In my opinion that seems extreme, factor in traffic, Sunday church, or constant cops on the freeway and you're trying to drive safely.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Christie,
I wanted to personally reach out and apologize for your experience at Empower. To protect the integrity of your workout, especially for our first time guests, it is important to arrive 30 minutes prior. For the inconvenience, we'd like to offer you and your friend some complimentary sessions at either of our locations. Please call 832-804-8062 and ask for Ryan. - Merissa H.Houston, TX144224Jul 16, 2018
Amazing and challenging work out! You will leave drenched in sweat and so proud you completed this 60 minute HIIT class! The gym is clean and welcoming with showers and a place to stash your personal items. The equipment is clean and gets wiped down after each use. You wear a heart rate monitor that they charge you $5 to rent each time but it's worth the five bucks because your stats are displayed on a large monitor and it motivates you to keep moving. This is a HIIT class so you are constantly moving but every class and every instructor is different so you will not be bored. Another thing I loved was that the instructors are very personable and will make sure you're good throughout the class! After my first class a rep texted me to see how I enjoyed it. It was an overall great experience and I will definitely keep going back!

Just got back from a class here (Hiit60) that I booked through ClassApp. I booked the class about 2 hours before. They called me 40 minutes prior to the class to make sure to arrive 30 mins prior for an equipment walk through and prep. They are pretty strict on this policy so make sure not to be late.
Great environment. Has a very welcoming and inspiring vibe to it. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and informative. They give you heart monitors that you wear on your chest when you arrive as well.
Now, as for the workout. Holy **** !! You want intense? Look no further. I didn't really know what I was getting into lol. I honestly don't think I have worked out this hard in my entire life.
Absolutely amazing! Loud music to pump you up and the trainer on the loud speaker encouraging you to keep going. The room is dark with neon colors also so it really sets the tone.
I highly recommend this class if you are looking to get a great work out in, meet some cool people, and push yourself to new limits!
You will leave the class feeling more alive than ever, even if your arms are jello lol.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michael T.Snellville, GA304852396Nov 5, 2017
Overall I found this studio to be very good. Great price for the personalized and energetic support that you get. All the equipment is top notch and similar to boutique studios. The location is also good with plenty of parking unless it's a busy shopping day. My only comment is that sometimes the exercises aren't completely intuitive and they do give a demonstration before, I'd suggest thinking about also emphasizing the muscles used and any tricky points about the exercise. Otherwise this studio is great for pushing yourself between cardio and weight lifting intervals!
Bottom line: this studio is similar to orange theory where you have your heart rate monitored and there are set workout routines. I felt that this place really pushes you every time you come. It's never the same routine so you always get a good workout
Pros
Similar to personal training workout but better because your heart rate is monitored and you are challenged vs others
Good location
Clean studio
Overall good instructions
Always challenging workout
Great music and stereo system
Cons
Bathroom doesn't really accommodate getting ready before work. The basics are there but could definitely be improved for a working person on a busy schedule
More clear instructions for lifting portionHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Norma A.Katy, TX8072Mar 28, 2017
Empower Fitness lab is everything you need in a ONE HOUR workout! You get high energy from the trainers and close attention to form while you lose yourself in the awesome music they play during your HIIT workout for the day! This place offers ice cold towels, free water and an after workout snack! You can't beat that with a bat! If group workouts aren't your cup of tea they also offer one on one personal training and not to mention in-house nutritionist to help you with your meal plan to achieve your fitness goals much faster!

So I have technically been to this facility 3 times by now I was only able to take 2 classes.
Here is what I feel about my experience here. I think the workout as a whole is a great burn. In comparison to orange theory, it's a little bit more confusing so you may have to take a little time to get used to the routine, but they do offer yoga & cycling as well so that's a great bonus. As an active fitness gal, I want to change my workouts up so that's a great offering.
One thing to keep in mind though, they do go through quite a few different movements in a single session so if you are new to that kind of workout, I would recommend to pace yourself so you dont injure yourself. I felt some tension around my neck after their class.
So as far as workouts go, I like his place. It's a great burn!
Now, the negative part of my experience. The first time I was there, I couldn't take the class I wanted because I was supposed to be there 30 Minutes prior but no one told me about it before I got there. I took the tour and the employee who gave me a tour didn't really tell me much about the classes or the equipments. Honestly, I was Irritated about having to change my workout over a tour that's not very informative.
I signed up for another class the next day, and when I arrived at 6 am in the morning, the staff informed me that I still needed to be there 30 minutes prior to get another tour of that class. After I explained to them about no one told me ahead of time, they were willing to squeeze me in.
Yesterday morning I signed up for another HIIT class and I showed up at 6 am but I was told AGAIN I had to be there 30 minute before because it's a boxing class. That would make it 3 tours total I have to take and assuming I would probably have to be there for another tour if I sign up for a cycling class, that would make it 4?!
Honestly, I can appreciate the effort they put in to be this thorough but I don't think it's reasonable. If a tour is necessary, can't they include all the information in one tour or at least make sure the staff giving a tour is knowledgeable?!
I hope over time, this location can grow and improve. I may give it another try later on but right now, I'm just not feeling the vibes.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
