Eco Chateau- Sorrento Valley

Eco Chateau has three locations around San Diego, but this review is specifically for the Sorrento Valley location.

The first time you visit, it might be a bit tricky to find as the entrance is located on the back side of the building. Since there are two similar looking buildings next to one another, you will want to go to the furtherest one {on the right if you're looking at both from the entrance}. There is plenty of parking available, but be sure to you only park in a spot labeled 208, a blacked out space or a blank space as the rest are reserved for other businesses in the complex.

I initially found Eco Chateau when we relocated to San Diego and I was in need of a good spa day - Based on the reviews, I knew this was going to be my new little slice of heaven. If you are like me and are a sucker for good customer service, Eco Chateau will provide that for you 10-fold. Whether you are speaking with someone over the phone to schedule an appointment, or walking through the entrance, every single person on the team is beyond friendly and warm & welcoming. Each of them engage and provide service with a smile all while getting to know you and provide the ultimate experience.

With a plethora of services to choose from - Massages, Facials, an Infrared Sauna, Colon Hydrotherapy, Reiki, and so much more - You are sure to find a service {or two} that best suits your needs. I've only experienced one Facial {and am in need of another soon}, and I left with my skin glowing and feeling so clean and refreshed. The Infrared Sauna is amazing and has so many health benefits {helps with sore muscles and pain, helps to fight illness and provides increased heart health}, and it's the perfect thing to do prior to a massage as it sets the mood for ultimate relaxation and loosens up the muscles {but, be warned..it gets HOT in there}. A massage at Eco Chateau is an absolute must - and you MUST see Samantha - She is phenomenal! I have been seeing her once a month for some back & neck issues and she has been an integral part of my healing. She is extremely knowledgable about the body and why things work {or in my case, don't work..HA!} and has provided me with tips, tricks and exercises to help my body feel better. She is a gem and truly cares about your overall well-being and she has made me feel like a brand new woman - Thank you, Samantha! You rock!

To treat myself during my week off between jobs, I booked myself a Sanctuary Package (infrared sauna, massage, facial, and a kombucha to go). The spa was easy to find despite being tucked away in an industrial area due to the very helpful youtube video they sent along with my confirmation email. The view from the reception area is absolutely gorgeous and you could almost forget you were in the middle of Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley.

The infrared sauna got a decent sweat going and it was nice being in a private room where I felt comfortable and not self-conscious about making sure my towel was covering every single inch.

My massage therapist, Kristina, took the time to listen to my areas of concern and really went above and beyond to get the stress knots in my shoulders. I opted for the CBD oil add-on for the massage, which was a small extra charge but well worth it, as I feel that it helped boost the benefits of the massage (and my skin feels amazing).

For the facial, I had put that I have an allergy/sensitivity to jojoba oil, and Kayla took the time to actually read what I had written. The regular line of products they use has jojoba oil in it, according to Kayla, so we upgraded to the Cosmedix products to be on the safe side (which was another small extra charge, but worth not having my lips blister and split on me from reacting to jojoba oil). My face is literally glowing right now!

I honestly think I might splurge for the same package a few times a year from now on, because I felt so pampered here and it was a nice break from my daily slog.

The staff is amazing here. It's a quiet, home like feeling. Juanita is absolutely the best at colon therapy (tube up your butt) and it does not hurt you. Makes you feel very comfortable. She has helped my husband and I so much with bloating, inflammation, constipation and health issues. Chelsea is the best facial list I've ever had. Always great conversation and my skin looks amazing now. Must try both ladies!!!

Pleasant surprise birthday gift from my husband. I had the Sanctuary Package and it was great. My only heads up is that it seems a bit unsanitary to use the sauna and then get a massage without a shower so I may book
a la cart in the future.

I love that you can rent saunas here! Before we got our own, it was really nice to trying them out beforehand. I love coming here and treating myself to a wellness/spa day. Not the most high end option but still really nice for a more wellness-focused day.

This is my go-to spot for some relaxation whenever I'm in San Diego. I love the calming environment, and I've been pretty happy with all the services they provide, which include: infrared sauna sessions, facials, massages, and body wrap. I would give them 5-stars but I had one issue re: rescheduling one time - they penalize you for last-minute rescheduling or cancellation, but they did this to me when they had someone call in sick. The more annoying part was that I gifted a facial to my sister and had her scheduled while she was in town but the cancellation caused her to just completely miss the opportunity because their next availability would've been after she left town. I don't like the double standard, so I suggested to management they develop a coverage plan for those instances.

I'm a firm believer of investing in your skin. I've recently moved to San Diego and was looking for a new place for my regular facial. I found Eco Chateau on Yelp and it had great reviews. Yesterday I booked my first visit facial. When I arrived, I felt welcomed and really liked the vibe of the place. It's very Victorian and smells great. I arrived on time, and didn't wait long before being escorted into the room. Lisa was my aesthetician. I really enjoyed the process. Lisa was pleasant and had great techniques. The facial included several cleansing steps, extraction (which hurt a little, but no pain no gain ammirite?) and masks among other things I'm not sure what. It also included arm massage which I REALLY needed but didn't expect. Even before the facial ended, I told myself, I'm gonna look into joining the membership. As a first time customer, I received 15% off, which I put into tipping Lisa. Great experience right? Wrong. So I got into my car and pulled down the mirror to check my face. To my surprise, it was RED AND SWOLLEN. I've had facials done every 3 weeks for the last 18 years while I lived in LA, and never ever had a reaction like this. At home I've used a wide variety of products and never had a reaction like this as well. This redness and swelling and itchiness is lasting 2 days in counting. After lotsa hydrocortisone cream, benadryl, and aloe vera gel, it finally started to came down.
I'm very conflicted about how I feel about Eco Chateau. On one hand, while I was there, I loved the experience. But for whatever reason, whether it was irritation or allergy to their products, I suffered for 2 days afterwards. Because of that, I can't really give this place a 5 star. I was debating between 3 or 4 stars. I know I won't be able to get another facial from this place again. But I'm open to going back for their massages and also liked Lisa. For that, I will settle for 4 stars.

Love, love, love! I've been searching for an affordable spot that offers red-light infrared sauna sessions. I've only been to the Sorrento Valley location, as they said their Mission Valley location will re-open in December 2021. Mission Valley would be way more convenient for me, but it's ok. This place is top notch where I don't mind the drive. It's worth it.
The sauna I went into is super private. You have your own room and own sauna. You can set your own light ambiance. They provide towels and a cold facecloth in cold water.
Bring lots of water - you get sweaty!
This place is super clean and the Sorrento Valley location is tucked away on top of a peaceful valley. It's a place to mediate as well.

Back again after a couple of years, still as great as I remembered. The saunas are brand new and super comfy. I still had some purchased sessions on my account from 2019, so I was able to walk right in and out seamlessly after I booked online.

Wasn't in the best mood and was too lazy to try to earn a good sweat in the gym. Came here for a paid sweat and I swear my mood improved a lot today. Grouch turned into happy dude for sure.

Gallon of sweat leaving your body definitely cleanses those receptors the same way a killer workout does. But this one you just get to sit there and listen to music for 40 min effort free.

Bring water and loose clothes if you can. But also a good place to pop in before your commute home. Get in there and sweat it out!

From the moment I was welcomed in I felt pampered and treated with kindness and respect. I've never done treatments like this before - the IR sauna, the facial, and the massage. All of them were everything I hoped they'd be and more. The whole facility smells pleasantly floral and eucalyptusy and the people who did the facial and massage were knowledgeable and were reassuring. I would pay double for what I got and still feel like I got my money's worth.

Already thinking of coming back and I'm not even done with my session today!!
