Come as you are. All are welcome at this studio! Talin, Marco, and Jimmy are so lively and fun to dance Zumba with! They are clear instructors, motivating and encouraging.
Since starting Zumba with this bunch, I've mustered up the courage and skill to join an Armenian professional dance group that will perform at Lincoln Center next year. Having zero dance experience, this is a testament to how good DFC is! Go Zumba!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lellie S.Worcester, MA32233Mar 16, 2018
Well I don't often give poor reviews, but I feel in this instance I need to provide a word of caution to my fellow Zumba lovers. First off, this group's Zumba is actually pretty good. Definitely doable for all levels, reasonable variety of classes, studio is decent. I've attended better, but these rank well. Now the down side. I had a pretty bad experience with their payments. While you can pay per class, that is pretty costly and so their other options look really tempting when you decide you want to continue classes. There's an option for buying up to 10 classes per time - though not the cheapest, I should have stuck to that one. Instead I opted for a monthly payment deducted from my account beginning in July of last year (I checked on that first payment to make sure it went through) - the cheapest option if you take several classes a week. It was fine for a while, but as winter approached I couldn't attend enough classes to make it worthwhile due to work (I live in another state, so could only attend after work). I decided to keep the monthly payments until the New Year as a way to continue funding the group as I knew they were struggling to outfit their new studio. I only attended a few times, but I thought it was worth it as good Zumba is hard to come by. In January though, knowing I was going on my honeymoon and then transitioning jobs that would take me out of the geographic area of the studio I asked them to stop the charges. They agreed. But in February I received another receipt for payment via email, which is how they had acknowledged previous payments drawn from my account. I sent back an email reminding them that I had discontinued and please reimburse that payment. They then called me to say that actually, even though I had received receipts every month, my account hadn't been charged since the previous August. I checked my account and they were right. And this is where I got upset. Instead of apologizing they basically explained the fact that their billing and receipts were completely separate systems and it was my fault for not checking my account to verify that the money they provided the receipt for had actually been deducted. I thought a receipt WAS a proof of payment (according to legal dictionaries, it is), so even though I keep records of charges, I didn't think to double check this one. I've now had two phone calls with the owners of the studio, neither were pleasant. Despite the fact that I have never owed on a single account in my entire life, they accused me of trying to renege on past dues and didn't even want to listen to a single thing I said. They made me feel as if I was not only in the wrong for not monitoring my payments, but also not worth listening to. I will be paying their bill - $290 - I never said I wouldn't. I always pay what I owe. However, such a lump sum is not easy to handle. They offered a 3 payment option, but at this point I'm done with them and do not want to prolong the process. In my first conversation with them one of the owners had made the excuse that I shouldn't get upset with them as they were only Zumba instructors. I pointed out that they were also business owners and this was very poor business practice. It is also extremely poor customer service. So please just be careful.
