I went there for physical therapy with Liz Bracken. She is fantastic! I was told by doctors I may need back surgery but after many sessions with Liz I don't need it! She uses manual therapy. I was skeptical at first but when she explained how that is done I understood and made perfect sense.
I added on sessions for a pins & needles types of pain on bottom of my heel and wrist pain. She said slowly in time they will heal. Both are healed!!!
Give her a chance to help you. She will be honest if she feels she can't help you or can't help you any further.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kate H.Falls Church, VA7181Jan 18, 2022
Deceptive billing practices. We canceled our weekly training sessions only to find that we were still being charged a monthly membership fee. No one informed us that we had to cancel the monthly fee separately. You'd think that would be automatic once we informed the billing contact that we were stopping using the gym. Hopefully this helps someone avoid the same issue.

Very Convenient for McLean residents, with plenty of parking. Friendly staff, well-organized and clean studio with great trainers. My son and I work out with Phillip Nguyen who tailors a workout based on a free assessment provided by Cypress. Shelly Breslin worked with us to develop a reasonable payment plan. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a chill place with excellent trainers

Truly one of the best things about McLean and the surrounding area -- the quality of the instruction, the variety of classes and personal training offered, the variety of the services offered (including nutrition counseling and PT), the collegiality of the staff and members, the gym space and equipment, and the overall value. It is tops. For anyone who is hesitant about joining "just another gym," this is not just another gym. Honestly can't say enough good things about it. . .

I love Cypress! I've been a member for two years. It's a relationship oriented gym. It's not a "big box" gym. The monthly fees might be higher than a big box gym, but are no higher than other quality exercise programs (less than the local Cross Fit). The trainers and staff all care about the individual members and have a holistic perspective. They encourage each of us to work out to our individual maximums while watching form. I like the group fitness classes in particular which give an intense but well- rounded work out. I have to admit, the social component of the classes keeps me coming back, too. And Chris, our fearless leader, does a nice job of adding fun programs throughout the year to keep us motivated.

Awesome gym! I have been going for 1.5 years now and still go faithfully 2 times a week plus! The trainers are well educated on health and fitness. The group classes are challenging and definitely worth attending. I am extremely happy with the level of services and the attention this gym provides. Well worth the money!

Formerly Elm St gym, now Cypress Fitness. New ownership. Completely different philosophy. Old owner offered a blend of personal-training and classic self-exercise options. New owner has turned this into a personal studio: threw out the real weight machines and line machines, and replaced it with the trainer-aided equipment. . The demographics are more well-heeled McLean residents -- men and women in their mid-50s commonly -- who seek personalized attention and are ready to pay for it: training, massage, vitamins, foods - you name it. The per-member spend has to be among the highest of any gym in the metro area. If you are not part of this demographic, you will feel it and you will self-select out. The owner carries the vibe, which extends to everyone there. All machine and line equipment is gone, so be prepared to use the cross-fit on your own and have folks give you that puzzled look.
In short, if you are a regular gym person, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a buddy-trainer, and don't mind the soft up-sell on related 'wellness' stuff, go for it.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
