Cycle Guroo

So I'm glad I gave this place more than one chance because the first experience left much to be desired.

My friend and I were on our bi-annual pilgrimage to Naples to work on our melanoma and decided that maybe it would be good to counterbalance all the crap we were eating while on vaca. In comes spin studio.

To maximize time in the sun, we opted for crack of dawn morning classes. Our first class, the front desk girl seemed to barely be able to function. Neither her nor the instructor were particularly friendly or inviting. Which is interesting given that there were 4 of us in class total (including the receptionist). You would think that they would try to sell the business more since the studio is freaking empty during off season. The class itself was kind of meh. You gotta have the self motivation to get a good workout in. The instructor spent half the class off the bike and seemed to be struggling with the online system that controlled the interval timers.

Luckily the second class was much better. The owner of the studio was around and was clearly interested in making sure that we were having a good experience. The instructor that day was way more energetic and into the workout, which I think is important...you're there to motivate me. If you look like you'd rather be elsewhere--guess what? It's 6 am. so would I.

At a $20 drop in rate, it's unlikely I'd come back. Frankly, this is atrocious considering they don't even offer cycling shoes (and there were all of TWO clean towels left before our second class of 5 people total). But i'd definitely pop in for a $10 friday workout.

Also, there's a TRX setup on the side. Couldn't tell you about since no one bothered to tell me about it...

Total body domination, omg what a phenomenal place to get your butt into gear! Alex was our instructor and not only does she pump you up for those hills but she makes you work without even realizing just how hard you're working! I love the accountability on the screens; best decision to join this spot!

Was in town for a couple of days and wanted a work out..checked out spin places via Yelp and this place jumped out to me. Signed up online and was surprised that the class I was signing up for was less than half full. Went to class and check in was easy and very friendly. My bike however didn't come up on the screen,the owner / instructor realized this early and immediately over me a free next ride...so I took her up on it before I had to leave Naples. My last class was awesome and I was surprised by the amount of bike talent was in the room. I spin a lot and couldn't break the top 5 in the class! Next time I'm in town, this place will see me again!

I come down to my family's house in Naples a few times a year and am always on the look out for something to supplement my beach-side runs. I tried out a class at Cycle Guroo last week and had a mixed experience.

The Good:
-Online system made it easy to book classes
-Rental shoes were decent
-Class was energetic and instructor had great energy

Could be improved:
-the class started about 10 minutes late
-the in-class system doesn't sync with the reservation system so most of the class was "guest" which is not helpful when tracking rank or other metrics. At least being identified by bike #would be helpful.

Overall, a good experience but definitely some areas for improvement.

I'm an avid spinner in Mass. Cycle Guroo is great. It's because of the people who work there. They make sure everyone is set up correctly and has everything they need. They explain the 'how to' and then they are just pumped up. It's a great atmosphere. One day there was a DJ and Charla gave up her own bike for a last minute arrival. The music is current and always different. It's small and pretty darn perfect. Congrats on opening a second Guroo.

The owner Charla Goodman and trainer Katie are both fantastic to spin with. It was only my second and third time ... ever. The studio looked and felt amazingly modern, cool and high-tech.

I am visiting family in Naples and decided to check out Cycle Guroo. I spin regularly at home either on my Peloton or at Flywheel, and I like that Cycle Guroo also displays your metrics during class and tracks them for you online. Instructor Kaitlin was great and had a motivating playlist. I will definitely go back.

Best spin studio in Naples!
My husband and I recently vacationed in Naples, and looked for a way to continue exercising while away from home. Cycle Guroo was just the place. Charla and her team of instructors create a fun, inviting and competitive atmosphere and the time on the bike flies. Before you know it, you've completed a tough but accessible workout. If you've never tried a spin class, this is the place to start. Shoes and water are available, and the instructors take great care in getting you set up and comfortable on the bike. Don't be intimidated -- try it and you will find your next favorite form of exercise. See you next year Charla!

Husband and I visit Naples regularly from New York, where admittedly the spin studio game is far more developed. Expectations reasonably managed, we went in with open minds as we were excited that a new place opened nearby. A few things to note:

1) User Experience: Booking the class online was super easy, and the $10 trial deal is hard to beat

2) Location: Google maps glitch places the studio in the wrong location; iMaps has it correct. We had some trouble finding it though it was no fault of the studio. FYI in case they want to rectify that with Google

3) Rental shoes: The shoe situation left more to be desired. While everything in the studio seemed shiny and new, the rental shoes looked like they were dug up out of the garbage. Old, tattered, and dirty...and lacking selection of size. Front desk receptionist was apologetic for not having collected enough shoes...what? Turns out you could just wear your own sneakers with the basket cages. Confusing at best, disgusted at worst. Either offer shoes that aren't falling apart or don't offer them at all.

4) Equipment: bikes were standard, but there was a technical glitch so my numbers didn't run on the screen until 3/4 of the class was over. Part of the fun of spinning is that you can track your progress, but for some reason I had the faulty bike

5) Instructor: Kelly was good, but it would have been helpful to have a 101 on how to read and use the bike- every studio's machines are a bit different so just to have bearings straight in the beginning of class would be a huge value add.

My experience was not ideal, but chalk it up to a series of unfortunate one-off incidents... I'm not sure I'd pay full price to go back to run the risk of this happening again but for $10 it was fine.

Just started cycling here about a week ago and already signed up for a month unlimited and I've already done 4 classes! Charla & Kaitlin have been wonderful instructors and I'm glad my friend recommended this place to me! Also I love that it's so close to downtown! Barely anything down this way beside wellness gym.
