Q:
I placed an appointment and I'm wondering if I can change my spa to the deluxe since I did the basic one? Also is it possible to book eyebrow waxing the same day like right after nails.. I had to book to seperate ones.
A:
Hi, please give us a ring to see if we can update your appointments. Our Deluxe Spa Pedi typically takes 30 minutes longer than the Classic Pedi. Right now everything is by appointments only as per state governance, so please book the waxing… more

I'm in love with my nails! The techs here are definitely well trained and know what they are doing.
Dropped a star for wait time, less than amazing customer service, and sub par cleanliness, but it could have just been a busy time.
Other than that, everything was awesome! My nail tech was Melissa and she did an excellent job making sure I liked the shape and design. She paid close attention to details and listened to what I asked for. She did my dip powder nails very well and made it so they aren't too thick and look natural which I love.
I got exactly what I asked for and walked away very happy. Thank you!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Morgan A.San Francisco, CA0125Apr 26, 2024
This place should be ashamed of themselves, frankly. They had come very highly recommended when it comes to acrylic application and I have spent thousands of dollars over the last year going there with two different techs. Over the last month or so I've had several instances (over 5-6 times) where my acrylic manicure has chipped - I was gracious and always made appointments to repair them and I always tipped the girl fixing it even though they never charged me for the repair (it is their time after all.)
After spending over $100 on my recent acrylic fill which included a basic color and chrome, they chipped after five days and they were not able to offer me any kind of refund. I am typically not picky and I am typically patient and understanding but it is insane how many times I've gone back for repairs (paying for Ubers to get there) when they should have lasted at least two weeks..
The initial application wasn't done well either - spillage over the cuticle (pictured) which definitely warranted a refund regardless of the pre mature chipping. I won't be back - save your money. They are charging top dollar and not honoring their good customers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Isaaida C.Jersey City, NJ047Feb 11, 2024
I am a customer at Cuticles Nail & Spa. I frequent the Spa located at 410 Central Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07307.
I love coming to this establishment as I feel that I usually am treated courteously and with respect. I absolutely love the nail expert Ann, she's fabulous.
It is my displeasure to inform anyone considering visiting to please be aware that YOU MAYBE CHARGED TWICE. You will get charged at the time you make an appointment and you will also be charged the for the full amount after your appointment.
My experience concern is that when this happens instead of being charged for the difference of the amount owed you get charged for the total amount owed. If you are vigilant enough to catch the error, and bring the issue up to their attention you will be met with some standard BS language that "your card was not charged" when clearly it was. Check your bank statements people.
On January 22, 2024, I scheduled an appointment on the Cuteticles App. The appointment was scheduled for February 4, 2024, as always the App charged me $36.00 for a manicure.
On February 4, 2024, I came to 410 Central Ave. location for my manicure appointment, my husband accompanied me and he too got a manicure. My total for the two manicures were $66.00. I explained to the receptionist/customer service lady (name unknown), that I had already paid $36.00 and that I would pay for the balance of $30.00. The receptionist/customer service lady explained to me that she was aware but that she had to charge me $66.00 and reassured me that the system would reimburse me the $36.00. On this day, I paid a total of $102.00 for services. I should have only paid $66.00 for services.
On February 10, 2024, I went to 410 Central Ave. location to speak to the receptionist/customer service lady because I DID NOT get reimbursed the $36.00 from the visit on February 4, 2024. I feel humiliated and upset that the receptionist/customer service lady explained to me that her system did not show a charge for $36.00 and that I should have been reimbursed. I showed her my credit card transactions and she had me call my bank. The bank representative explained to her there are two separate transaction charges, one for the amount of $66.00 and another for $36.00. The receptionist/customer service lady just continued to explain how strange the situation was since she did not see a charge for $36.00 on her system. But instead showed me a calendar and a cancelled appointment for $36.00 and a new appointment for $66.00.
QUESTION: In what planet does a calendar cancellation and rescheduling appointment amount to a REFUND?
I felt humiliated and embarrassed that my issue was not resolved. I was not reimbursed for the $36.00 that I over paid. The bank issued a dispute on the $36.00 charge. Please save yourself the hassle pay in cash or go somewhere else.
UPDATE: I received a refund for the $36.00.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - sarah c.Jersey City, NJ01Apr 6, 2024
Paola was very unprofessional. Usually have a good experience with all the techs but very rude tech.

This was my first time here. Everyone was very sweet and the price was pretty reasonable. I got dip powder with extensions for 87$ including tax and tip. I had Rosa- she used gel on top of powder to create this marble effect. It took about 1 hr 30 mins. I would definitely recommend and will for sure be going back here!

For the amount they charge and the "add ons" they charge, I'm surprised they don't charge to use the bathroom!!
How is a cutdown on a fill an extra charge?!? That's part of a nail service. A fill turned into $100!? What do they expect when someone gets a fill? To just let the nails keep growing and not shape up. The nails came out decent but no matter how many times I asked for the C curve to be thinner or even even it was a waste.
My gel toes are atrocious. For $60 this looks like I did them myself. Gel on my SKIN and not even applied evenly. Make sure you don't get TONY for a pedicure.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 1 - Janella I.New Brunswick, NJ26953Jul 31, 2023
Went in for acrylic gel refill and this is what I got. Instead of it being filled closer to the cuticles it looks like it's 1-2 weeks post refill. For the amount of money you pay here, you would think it would be done better. Also why is the staff so unfriendly.

The service, sanitary standards, and work just don't match the price tag at alllllll $85 for acrylics I don't even mind but the person I worked with did not even clean my cuticles, and my nails are literally chipping / lifting up after not even two days. It's just sloppy & was kind of gross seeing how things are reused.
Mix that with listening to the girls in the front complain about how they need to find new jobs it's not a really a relaxing experienceHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stacey L.Jersey City, NJ1989210Dec 4, 2022Updated review
UPDATED REVIEW: They called and asked to move my 3:15 appointment to 4pm. I explained that I could make it but this was extremely frustrating since I'm not local to The Heights and would be late for something I had later in the evening. They said they would offer a 10% discount. They told me this again as I left. I received no email notification showing the adjustment went through (which is how I'm notified of charges, nor am I seeing it on my banking app. Hopefully it comes through in a few days but I shouldn't have had to ask for a refund in the first place if you don't know how to manage your nail techs and have to push an appointment 45 MINUTESSSS!!! Like, what is even going ON here?
In addition to that, toe nail polish (blue) chipped less than 6 hours after the appointment. Gel mani came out super cute though
I think I'll stick to one of the numerous nail salons in downtown Jersey City from now on.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 5, 2022Previous reviewThe space is really pretty and I liked the vibe. Fun playlist today, too.
The gel mani I got looks very good. The pedicure color application seems sloppy. I can fix that up at home and I got a silly color anyway so not a huge deal, but figured it was worth noting. - Lauren S.Manhattan, New York, NY2081117Jun 17, 2022
I'm having a hard time with Cuteticles. I really want to love going here because i adore their pedicures, but I've run into issues with allergies and pushback the last two times i've been.
I've recently developed an allergy to gel polish so I have been trying to do exclusively dip powder. The two times I've been in for dip I've received pushback on using only dip powder without a gel topcoat. The first tech eventually obliged and only used dip.
I had to come back for some repairs as the topcoat was lifting after about 2 days and the tech doing the repairs insisted to use gel. I told her about my allergy and she *promised* I would be fine and the gel is a better/longer lasting topcoat (I'm aware of this, but again..allergic reactions are something I'd like to avoid), and again gel was insisted.
I'm currently breaking out in a reaction due to the gel used during my repair. All of my fingers are puffy, red and itchy around my cuticeles and i'm starting to develop small blisters on my fingertips.
Really bummed about my experience with their manis and it's going to take 5-7 days for my hands to recover with topical steroids. If you have gel allergies, I'd avoid this salon.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
