I've been running and working my bad hard the last few months and needed to treat myself. I heard some many great health benefits of Cryotherapy and I had to give it a try.
To schedule an appointment, I simply called their main number and able to schedule my appointment the day of. Not sure if they accept walk-ins but it's always best to schedule in advance. Pro-Tip- scheduling an appointment in advance makes you appear like VIP member. Most times, you are greeted upon arrival and it's lessens wait time.
Anyway, I filled out a waiver form to ensure my body would be able to handle the frigid elements which is standard. Then I was taken to the back to strip down. I was given a park of thick socks, Ugg's, gloves and knee warmers (although I didn't use them) to prepare myself. As a man, I kept my undies on and hopped into the chamber.
Once inside, the temp ended up getting to -250 and I stayed inside for 3 mins. Let me tell you, ITS WAS COLD! Once outside, my body immediately felt better and soreness seemed to decrease. I will definitely be back to book my next session to keep my body sharp and operating at a high level. If you end up going to CRYO Philly be sure to tell Dayhna, Rob sent ya! At a great experience in CRYO Philly's pristine facility. Tired the cryotherapy and leg compression. Infrared sauna next. Dana and her staff are 5 star.

I went here with my sister after I bought her a two person cryo tank Groupon. Even with the Groupon it was pretty pricey.
My sister loved going into the tank, but I didn't particularly care for it, partially because I didn't like stripping down for this treatment and partially because the cold doesn't feel super great.
I'm giving 3 stars because the woman who administered our treatments was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
I wouldn't return, but my sister definitely would!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Courtney N.Philadelphia, PA39985Jul 11, 2020

Lately, I've been seeing cryotherapy everywhere. When I saw that CRYO Philadelphia had a Groupon deal going I jumped at the chance to try it. I bought a session for 2 people for $49. (Introductory sessions are also $25 per person without a Groupon.) I called the office and made an appointment for Saturday at 11am. Dining Partner and I had some issues using the callbox to buzz into the building at first but once we got into the building and up to the 5th floor the space was clean, bright and welcoming. We signed waivers and were escorted into the treatment room. We changed into robes, socks, gloves, and ugg boots for the feet, all of which they provided. Women have a choice to go with or without undies, men are asked to keep their undies on. Also, no lotions or creams should be used an hour prior to the appointment.
We had the option to go into the capsule for 2-3 minutes. Dining Partner went first, he was in for the entire 3 minutes. Then it was my turn. I found that looking at the light above helped me feel a bit warmer. But my legs felt like they had icicles all over them and I didn't need to be a hero! I made it a whole 2 minutes and 40 seconds before I had to tap out. The woman told me that because I went second, the capsule got colder, faster.
I weight-lifted the day before my cryo session so I was very sore. My soreness didn't go away immediately, but the next day I wasn't as sore as I usually am. I would compare the sensation of the capsule it to sitting in a tub of ice water, but much less traumatizing. I would recommend anyone give it a try to see if it's something that works for them. I'm not sure if cryotherapy did much for my body, but it was a fun experience.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Ashley H.Philadelphia, PA223105Feb 9, 2019
Cryo is a fantastic oasis in the city! Cold therapy, compression therapy, full facials and now an INFRARED SAUNA?! Yes please! Its the perfect balance to living the urban lifestyle of grinding and not having enough access to self care and wellness. Do yourself a favor and get a membership there!

I had a great experience with the staff! They were super personable and well educated on the Cryotherapy process. I'm excited to go back and try compression therapy.

My boyfriend and I came here to help him with acute lower back pain after one of our friends posted on FB how cryotherapy almost instantly helped her husbands back pain.
This was our first time ever doing this. Dana and Courtney, who work there, are very awesome. My boyfriend went first, and I followed. It gets pretty friggin cold... You're absolutely naked if you're a woman, aside from wearing the ugg boots, socks and gloves that they provide. If you're a male you're asked to keep on your boxers, and given uggs, socks and gloves too.
We didn't feel anything right away, but we slept like a baby. My boyfriends back pain didn't change much. I've had people rave about cryotherapy and while I understand that it's not a quick fix, I also don't think I'll do much of this. I'll probably continue with acupuncture.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
