The one star is generous.
Dirty facility, dirty float tank with nasty debris in water, timer didn't work and I was in there longer than I wanted causing me to be late for class. The light kept going off when trying to shower leaving me stumbling around, towels smelled like they hadn't been washed and left fuzzy lint all over my body and hair. I could hear other customers or something inside the tank so there wasn't as much relaxation as there should have been. Music knob didn't work inside float tank. Once inside the tank completely closed, you can see a strip of light coming in on the door, which hinders the expectation of relaxation when you can't be fully deprived of senses.... As it is supposed to be a sensory deprivation tank.... Will not ever go back and will recommend people to not go there. Hopefully the one downtown is better.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sally S.Indianapolis, IN1105Apr 12, 2023Updated review

We appreciate your review Sally from our whole team. It is wonderful to have gotten to know you at both locations.
Jul 26, 2021Previous reviewI do the sauna at my doctor's recommendation and love that their offices ( I have visited both) are always very clean and the people that work there are very nice & professional. They have an online scheduling system that makes it super easy to make appointments. Highly recommend!

I tried the Float Tank ... intro specials are just $35 for a first timer, plus I caught a facebook coupon for only $22 for an hour float session. They sell monthly "memberships," but the friendly staff did not try to push this on me at all; didn't even mention it. I really appreciate that. I've been to massage places where it's all about trying to sign you up for more, and I do not like that.
You go into a private room with float tank and shower. You can wear a swim suit, but I would assume the high salt content will destroy one very quickly. They recommend nude. There are switches to turn the tank light on or off. When on, they phase through, orange and red. There is also a music switch which, on, plays spa/nature sounds. I tried everything on and then off for total sensory deprivation. For me, I do like the music on.
Be careful about touching your eyes. There is a spray bottle inside with distilled water to spray your face. I also recommend putting the hand towel inside on the interior handle -- I found that I needed to spray & then wipe off my face a few times.
I like the pod closed -- the interior is still about 3 ft high. But you can keep the lid open any amount if you want. Also, I'm 5'4", and if I point my toes and stretch my arms over my head, I can just brush both ends of the tank. The water is about 8-11" deep, so you can also just sit up if necessary. There is also a little neck pillow inside, but I did not use this.
The water is body temp. I thought I might get cold, but I was comfortable. Especially with the lid down, that was warmer than the rest of the room.
I enjoyed this experience and would definitely go back for some relaxation, and maybe to try other services. Well worth it.

Thank you for this great review Raena. The information you've shared will be a great help for those who want to try floatation therapy the first time.

Great parking. Central location. Modern feel/amenities. Pleasant staff. Ease of booking, great intro price. Very posh looking front desk staff. Only issue? Location sinage from the road isn't good. Maybe the building number on bottom of glass front door? Or newish numbers on bldg. Google maps shows a red brick building. Not the new color

Sauna
This was my first experience with a sauna and it is and was EVERYTHING! Didn't even wanna get out when the 30 minute timer went off. It's a nice and peaceful time to sit back and sweat while you read a book or meditate etc. I will make this a routine thing!
Cryotherapy
Came here a few months back to try cryotherapy. No other way to put it except that it is cold af!! My friend and I wanted to try it due to our extreme workouts that resulted in aches and pains. Cryotherapy worked! The day of I had a muscle sprain in my arm from weights. I had ZERO pain after cryotherapy. I won't make a routine out of it but I definitely will go again for any new aches or pains. I can definitely see why athletes prefer it over ice baths.
Cryotherapy Indy is a nice and clean facility. The staff workers are always nice, pleasant, helpful and informative.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

If you're looking for relaxation, struggling with anxiety or stress or just want to try something new, I highly recommend checking out floatation pods offered here. After hearing an NPR piece on the positive power of sensory deprivation and float therapy with stress management, I opted to give it a whirl for a second time. With the Groupon purchase, my 60 minute float was only $40. Not too shabby if you compare it to massages or therapy. I would add that floating is great for muscle relief and specifically eliminating tension from your neck (for those of us who spend way to many hours looking down at a computer).
So, how's this work?
-located in a somewhat odd strip mall but paired with a chiropractic business so it makes sense and the space is clean so there's no complaints here
-bring a bathing suit and be prepared to take a shower in the pod room before and after you float
-float sessions typically last a hour and the floating piece is made possible thanks to the thousands and thousand of pounds of salt in the pod
-you can opt for music or silence while you float
-claustrophobic? Fret not, you can leave the pod open while you floatHelpful 20Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - 54914403879Aug 2, 2019
My first three minutes in a cryo chamber had me quoting the 2000 teenage comedy, Bring It On:
"I said, 'BRR! It's cold in here!'"
It's cold in there. Like, really, really, REALLY COLD in there. But cryotherapy also has been really, really, REALLY helpful as I recover from an injury in my right arm. In addition to helping my recovery, I get an incredible surge of energy that lasts for the entire day. I feel fantastic all day on cryotherapy days.
Interested in booking an appointment? Cryotherapy Indy offers you a discount on your first visit, and you can purchase packages to save you a little bit of moolah. I'll admit, it's costly, but I believe it's worth the investment, especially if you're recovering from an injury.
(Side Note: I was able to pay for a package of five sessions via HSA. There are also deals on Groupon.)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I'll admit it, I was a little nervous reading about the "sensory deprivation pod". It sounded like I was going to the upside down in stranger things!
From the moment I walked in the door at cryotherapy Indy, I was never nervous again. They were welcoming and provided amble details and instructions. They showed me to my pod room, told me the rules, and in I went (after a quick shower).
I chose to take the full sensory deprivation approach - lid closed, lights off, ear plugs in. One hour of floating in complete solitude. Definitely an interesting and relaxing experience.
Immediately following the float pod, I headed to the normatec boots. I was most excited for this part of my visit. I ran a marathon 3 weeks before my visit and a half marathon 2 days before my visit. The boots made a huge difference in my recovery.
I can't wait to get back and actually try the cryotherapy!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

We're glad we've become a huge part of your recovery Steve. We hope to be your go-to place for recovery. By the way, have you already tried our cryotherapy?

Having been introduced to Cryotherapy Indy thanks to them offering Yelp Gold Elites to try the sauna, Normatec , and floating services, I find myself returning specifically for the use of the Normatec service.
While one might only assume that the services offered are for athletes only, Cryotherapy Indy offers a variety of services to help everyone recover and improve their overall wellness.
Highlights/Tips:
+ You can book your appointments online, hirefredrick is who supports their booking system, or call
+ They offer a variety of pricing options, depending upon you need and frequency of visits, from two different monthly services to packages relating specifically to the types of services that are being offered
+ Signup for their emails. Occasionally they will run discounts for specific times/days, especially for Normatec
+ Normatec - 60 minutes especially has helped me to recover from jetlag and the grueling wear and tear of long haul flights. They offer the use of leg compression or hip compression. There are tvs to watch during your treatment.
+ Floating pod- They only have a single pod. The setup is similar to other floating places where there is a shower in the room to use pre and post float. Just don't forget to use the earplugs and cover your cuts with the provided Vaseline prior to getting in the pod. Salt in the wound burns!
+ Sauna- There is a single sauna that you can play your own music in. The room is smaller and not fully enclosed at the top (think warehouse open space with room built for specific function). As a result, you can hear what is going on out the door, especially if anyone is talking in the Normatec area.
While other services are offered, I cannot speak to them as I have not experienced them. I would recommend checking these guys out if you are looking to recoup, especially from an injury or long travel day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Easy to be in and out, and very much appreciate how the staff is not pushy on wanting you to sign up for packages. Pricing is reasonable, and I've not had any bad experiences.
