• Corcova salt spa has given me a glimpse back into physical and mental happiness. The zero gravity feel releases the added stress and tension of everyday wear and tear. The mind has the truly beautiful, and unexpected release as well. The most important step in accomplishing these wonderful services that are offered at Corcova, is an open mind when you walk through the door. Full acceptance of something not prescribed or ordered, will put you well on your way to the promised land. They will take care of the rest! In a sixty minute float, I will do my best to break down the stages that I've encountered in each and every one of my floats. Stage 1... the shutdown You close the lid and turn the lights down, your eyes should follow suit. All your limbs loose, with your hands and fingers open, not to let one ounce of relaxation elude you. Now to your brain. Deep breaths are a must to finding the inner peace/shutdown you'll require to envelop the whole experience. As you inhale, you feel your body lower ever so slightly. In each exhale you rise to the top, as if you've just blown out your stresses. The change in buoyancy is incredible. Stage 2... the grey Shutting down is the hardest part. We are programmed to hold onto our pain, stresses, and who doesn't have a hard time sleeping at night with their mind racing. Once you've achieved this, in sets the grey. This is the time where you're between conscious and unconscious. You start painting your relaxation with either your favorite lake, or concert, or hiking trip... whatever is most comfortable to you.
