Charles Gregory Blow Dry Bar & Beauty Bar

My fiancee doesn't have a Yelp account so I'm writing this review on her behalf. She wanted to get a blowout done before our engagement session with our wedding photographer. She searched Yelp for places near us that do blowouts and chose Charles Gregory because of its positive reviews. She booked an appointment here 2.5 hours before our engagement session.

I accompanied my fiancee to this appointment. It was short and sweet. It took only about 30 minutes.

The salon is located on the ground level of the 805 Peachtree building in Midtown. Very limited free parking (only three spots!) is available in the surface lot next to the building. We were lucky and got one of them.

The salon had a really cool and relaxed vibe. Everyone seemed really chill and friendly, even the other customers. My fiancee was seen promptly at her appointment time by Jasmine. Jasmine did a great job with my fiancee's hair. Jasmine taught me that Asian hair has to be pulled tighter and harder for blowouts. The blowout cost $45 before tip. You pay for services at the front and tip the hairdresser individually. Jasmine accepted credit card tips on her phone.

The blowout included a hair wash. Jasmine had long fingernails which served two purposes: (1) They looked pretty. (2) They acted kind of like a comb or brush. How convenient. Jasmine was nice.

I was offered a drink on more than one occasion and my fiancee was offered a drink too. They have a mini bar in the back. They also have a TV and free Wi-Fi. The password is the store's phone number: 6789730515. The salon was clean, smelled good, and looked stylish.

My fiancee's hair looked wonderful for the shoot. We were happy with the results.

I travel a lot. I usually try to get a blowout early in my trip. Good hair can last up to four days, it makes traveling so much easier.

This salon is beautiful. I was greeted promptly and offered a drink. I felt warmly welcomed.

The sinks are cool looking, but crazy uncomfortable.

I have fine hair. The stylist used an extremely hot setting on the hair dryer (it was painful), and banged my head several times throughout the drying process. When all was said and done, I loved the way my hair looked. The big problem: when I got back to the hotel, and over the next few days, I noticed a few areas of my hair that are completely broken off. This can only be attributed to the hot setting of the blow dryer, leaving the iron on for too long in certain sections, or just being plain rough.

When in the hair care business, 'care' should be the operative word. Due to my experience at this salon, I will have consequences for months to come.

I reached out to the owner in a private email and never received a response.

Hair and makeup by Keishay at Chas Gregory today. She did a phenomenal job turning my post workout hair to super straight glamor. I am always skeptical about having my makeup done (most makeup artists think middle aged women need a thick mask) but Keishay did a beautiful job!

And the cherry on the top was the gallant Clifford at the salon walked me to my car under an umbrella to safeguard my new beautiful sleek do!

Everyone was supernice and friendly. Mimosas and wine to sip while they beautify you!

Had such an amazing experience here! My friend and I made appointments here for hair and make up before our graduation. They were very accommodating and came in at 7am (even though they don't do this normally). Amber did my hair and it turned out perfect! I received so many compliments. I've had my hair curled in the past and this was the best I've ever had! Jordan did my friend's hair and it was also very pretty. Moon was hilarious and did both of our make up wonderfully! It lasted all day.

I definitely would recommend this place for any special occasion or just wanting to get dolled up for fun! Affordable pricing, great environment and excellent staff!

While traveling I visited this Blowdry Bar. I stayed in downtown Atlanta and the options were extremely limited for hair salons. I'm glad I found this for a Sunday morning appointment and I will definitely visit again when I'm back in town. Hairdresser did a fantastic job and left my hair smooth and stylish. It's only $45. Staff was friendly, place was clean and spacious.

The worst salon ever, I called for the first time ever to make an appointment and was told that I needed a credit card to make it, that is fine. I asked for a later time but they said they could only do 11:30, I said
Umm okay, I will call back to see if I can make it. I call back and the incomplete manager says she will charge me a cancellation fee. Why? I wasn't even told about the cancellation policy. I called as I said I would to update them. Stay away! $55 just for them to press your hair, pre washed and blow dryer. Stay away

Update: after the owner called me and gave me a $50 gift card and personally styled my hair himself. It was light and bouncy.

I came to Charles for a blowout, I have a ton of hair and I despise styling it myself. Charles blew me away with his skills!! I really have to say it was the best blow out I've ever gotten (and I've gotten plenty!!). He gave me the perfect amount of volume, the perfect bounce. Just all in all AMAZING!! I can't wait to come back!! And it lasted me 3 days (up until a hair wash)!! If you need a PERFECT blow out, search no further!!

My first time in a blow dry bar and I am so happy with the full face/blow out I received from Jade! I wear no makeup on a normal day so the reactions I got from our friends at my husbands work event were a lot of fun. I felt beautiful, and I've had a rough year and really needed to feel pretty for a change. Thank you Jade and the rest of the staff here; I will be back!

I came to this location on Saturday to get ready for my wedding. I wish I could rate the stylists separately because the lady who did my hair did a great job. She was friendly and did exactly what I requested. The two stars go to her, she really does deserve more.

However, the guy who did my makeup was terrible. He was so unfriendly it made me feel uncomfortable. I told him that on a normal day I wear a lot of makeup and to not be afraid to "cake it on"... literally words I used. He didn't even use foundation, you could see every blemish on my face. My eyeshadow was dreadful, needed to be blended and some shine added to it like the picture I showed him. ZERO blush was used, he used brown on me. I have long eye lashes and at first he said he wouldn't use fake lashes on me but changed his mind at the end, I liked the fake lashes, but he didn't add any mascara to them, hello I have bottom lashes!!!! The eye liner was terrible and all over the place as well. He mentioned that he's been doing makeup since 2006, literally the end of our convo because I felt like I was annoying him. I kept waiting for him to blend my eyeshadow or start on the foundation, pretty sure my jaw dropped to the floor when he said he was done.

I didn't complain, I just wanted to get out of there. I hated my makeup so much that I knew nothing I said would make it better. I went home removed it all and did it myself. Very disappointing considering it was my wedding day and I was looking to not add any stress to the day. See photos.

This place is AMAZING! I was in town for NYE so I made an appointment for a blowout and makeup. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with positive energy and smiling faces. They started me immediately and I told my stylist what i was looking for and he started right in. He was so nice and fun to chat with while he did my hair. It was exactly what I wanted!!

Then I told my makeup artist the look I wanted to have for the night Well he must be a miracle worker because my makeup has never looked better!

My hair and makeup held up all night without any issues too!

The prices are reasonable and the staff is amazing. They even had a special for "the works" including hair and makeup so the price was great! I wish I lived here so I could go back for all my special occasions!
