Blushington Makeup & Beauty Lounge

I was so excited to go here last Thursday for Maisel Day! I was even more thrilled that the receptionist said the wait was just 30 minutes. Fast forward to over an hour later, and I was still waiting. I know the place was swamped, but if I had been told up front a more closely estimated wait time, I would have left, since I was already pushing it to squeeze this into the morning. I noticed that they were going by sheets of paper with all the girls' names handwritten on them. I feel like for a business that agreed to be a part of Maisel Day and knew that this event was coming, they would have had a more efficient system in place for keeping track of everyone who came through the doors.

Other than the inaccurate wait quote and disorganization, it was so nice to take a step back in time and listen to the tunes of the 1950s playing in the lounge. Deana did a wonderful job with my full face makeup application, and I felt like a mini celebrity getting ready for dinner with Shirley Temple.

Had it not been for Deana, I would have rated Blushington a couple stars less for being so all over the place and inefficiently tracking everyone.

I came here for Miss Masiel day. To start Tony did my full face makeup. I felt glamorous, beautiful. When I have an event to attend I will be back to see Tony.
Now, besides my glamorous makeover. During lunch at Mel's Dinner I came over to put my friend's and I name list on the wait list. After lunch we walked over ( an hour later). Our names were on Page 2. We were told you'll be seen in 10 mins. And hour later I came up to the receptionist desk to see what was going on. It turned out the Receptionist switched page 2 and page 3. Apparently all of the names on page 3 were called before us. I saw the page 2 number crossed out and changed to page 3. And the same on page 3 were crossed out to page 2. So the 10 minute wait turned out to be three hours! Yes three hours!
If it wasn't for Tony's glamorous makeover. I would have given this place a one. Just because of the receptionist.

Melissa did my make up for my wedding, and WOW. It was beautiful! I wanted a more dramatic look with glitter and she nailed it. The products are great quality, and my face held up all night. I highly recommend this place!

I'm a regular here! No matter who does my makeup, they do an excellent job! Everyone who works there is really nice and helpful! They sell a lot of great products but definitely don't pressure you to buy any.

Appointment generally start on time which is nice because I usually have somewhere to go! Parking is really easy- it's right behind the Blushington and Drybar.

Overall the experience is really great and it's a good deal for the price. I always leave really happy with the makeup look!

This is so cool! I got a promotion to come try this place out and I was so happy to learn it exists! If you're ever in need of makeup for a special event or occassion how perfect and convenient this place is to get what you need at a good price! The girls and staff are super friendly and the ambience is nice! It also happens to be located right next to dry bar so if you gotta get both done it's the place to go to be most efficient! My make up came out great and I wanted a more natural look abd it lasted all day. Was very impressed and will definitely be back!

How have I not known about this place?! A friend and I were going to an awards ceremony and she suggested we get our hair done at Drybar and makeup done at Blushington. I've had my makeup done at Sephora before and came out looking crazy. My friend assured me if wouldn't happen at Blushington, these guys are pros and she was right!

I believe my makeup artist was Tiffsny. She was super sweet, listened to my concerns and made me look fantastic! It was still me but better. No Geisha or clown face. And you can change in their back room. I felt like a million bucks for the event. This will be my go to for makeup from here on out!

I can't believe I never knew this place existed. Long gone are the days of going to the Dior or Mac counter at Nordstrom/Macy's to get my makeup done for special events! I had a wedding to go to at the skirball center for a dear friend of mine so two of us had made appointments at DryBar which is right next door. I noticed Blushington while driving by and suggested we also get our makeup done so they are conveniently located next to each other.

Upon arriving, friendly warm faces greet you & before we knew it, champagne was flowing! Same vibe and atmosphere as DryBar in that sense. I had the privilege of Jazz doing my makeup and I received compliments all night! She was so sweet and did an amazing job executing exactly the look I wanted.

I will definitely be back in September for the next wedding I have to attend, can't wait!

I don't wear very much makeup and so when I had my make-up done for my engagement shoot (by someone I was thinking about using for my wedding), my fiance looked at me in terror. It was too much, it wasn't me, and it wasn't who he fell in love with. I couldn't stand the thought of him looking at me that way in our first look on the wedding day.

So with two weeks left until my wedding, the hunt was on for an artist that would give me a natural look that would hold up in photos and the August Agoura Hills sun. I booked a trial session with Maria. She listened to my requests, offered her suggestions, and was beyond patient with me through the process. She checked in with me along the way, starting with the bare minimum and then applying more until we hit the sweet spot.

Maria, without a doubt, made my wedding day. I look like "me" in all my wedding photos. I was glowing and so visibly confident in my skin - a stark difference to my engagement shoot photos. There's not a thing about my make up I would change.

Could not recommend Maria more! She is my MUA now for life.

I got a makeup application at 4PM yesterday. I had a very important event to make at 6PM. I wanted a natural men's makeup look with a light everyday coverage. The makeup artist I saw advised a $30 upgrade to an airbrush application. I didn't know how full coverage this would come out and it was very surprising to me when I opened my eyes. The airbrush makeup got all into my hair and my eyelashes were completely white. I didn't want to interrupt her work and I assumed it was still just the foundation step and the look would eventually come together. She then contoured my cheeks, my forehead, my jawline, my chin and then went in to fill in my eyebrows very heavily and dark. I looked like I was in drag makeup when I wanted to just even out my skin tone very naturally to begin with. She even asked me if I wanted eyeshadow. Even during the application, around my mouth was beginning to crack and the makeup looked like I was wearing a mask.

When I was talking to her, she admitted I was the first guy she's ever done makeup on. This was very alarming and made me uncomfortable as I am paying $90+, a luxury price, to someone who has never done men's makeup. She clearly had no idea what she was doing for a men's makeup application or how to make a man look good & natural in makeup.

I came to Blushington because I had a good experience once before and I had a very big event to make tonight. I paid $90, tipped $18 to the artist and left the salon. As I left, I heard someone in the parking lot laugh about how much makeup I had on. I was so embarrassed that I immediately wiped off all of the makeup in my car. I then had to pay another $50 at Blue Mercury next door in a hurry and panic since I had to make my event and get my photograph taken.

I am upset after spending $108 for makeup I had to wipe off from it immediately from it not being applied well. I emailed the owner from her email address posted here and no reply.

Sat and waited for the wifey to get camera ready makeup and false eyelashes, all expertly applied by Raeven, a senior makeup artist. She looked amazing (wouldn't allow to post a photo), but you just have to believe it - Blushington is a great place for the ladies to get expert makeup applied. Afterwards, we attended a very elegant benefit and other women came up to wifey and complimented her appearance. Everything was done exactly on time and as promised. Highly recommended.
