• I want to give a shout-out to kristie(or christy - not sure the spelling). Ever since Taylor left Blo I haven't found someone who can actually work with black peoples hair textures and type. The last couple of times (prior to this week) I have had stylists at Blo tell me they can and then I would leave with my hair still kinky at the roots or not feeling like I even got my hair done. I even feel like my hair has started to break and shed more due to the way they were brush and blow drying.This last time I had to go home and reflat iron my hair. I paused my membership mid-May with intentions of actually cancelling because I felt like the salon has evolved to not serve people of color, due to the lack of stylist experienced with our hair types who understand that there has to be a different approach than their typical client. However, kristie did a AMAZING job on Tuesday and i really appreciate her thoroughness and patience. I was already anxious/hesitant arriving at the salon bc I was worried I would be disappointed again. I voiced my concerns with her and let her know how my hair has to be blow dried in order for it to actually style correctly. She appreciated my comments and was SPOT ON. My hair is feeling luxurious again and like it used to when Taylor worked there. So for now, I'll keep my membership and just ask for her every time! So huge thank you to her for making me feel happy with Blo again!
