Giving 2 stars because BLO Aventura USED to be fantastic!! I used to love BLO Aventura, and came here often over the last 5 years when Juliette was there (she was fantastic). My last time in was Saturday 3/2 and I hadn't been in a year, because I had a new baby at home. I scheduled my appointment at 1pm, and even got there about 8 mins early just in case they were finishing up early and I could be done early, if not no big deal. It was my husband's 40th surprise birthday party later that day, and I had a ton of things to finish up. I waited patiently while everyone who come in after me got taken before me. At 1:10pm I asked the front desk woman how much longer it would be, because I needed to pick up my dog from the groomer and was on a tight schedule. She responded to me, without even apologizing for the wait, that she thought I was scheduled at 1:15pm. No, I was scheduled at 1pm and I showed her the screen shot because she already had a rude tone with me. She responded "I don't know why I have you in at 1:15pm then". Well, lady, I don't know either, but my appointment is at 1pm. She said she would check to see how much longer it would be and came back and said 5 mins. They didn't take me until 1:20pm which means I had been sitting and waiting for almost 30 mins and 20 mins after my scheduled appointment. No apology, no offer to discount the service, absolutely nothing. Not even the stylist apologized. I had my hair washed and blow dried and left because I had no time for anything else at this point.
What I think happened was they got a walk in and decided to take her and just let me wait knowing my appointment was at 1pm. When she went to the stylist she didn't say "oh, her appointment was at 1 and she's been waiting". She said how much longer do you think you'll be?". Customers saw I was annoyed as they had already been sitting getting their services for 20 mins while I was still waiting. Completely unacceptable BLO. Your front desk needs to respect other people's time and be overall more friendly. Unfortunately, because of this, I probably won't be back, even though I still have remaining balance on a gift card.. Amanda. We are very disappointed to see your review, and even more disappointed to read about your experience at our location. We clearly missed the mark and we are very sorry about that. Too many rules and stipulations. The front desk folks I have never been impressed with as far as customer service. I recently had the pleasure of grumbling over the course of two days, with an employee back-and-forth over a no-show charge. I made an appointment through the app, when I went to cancel my appointment it was no longer there. I assumed I had already cancelled. Ok cool. But apparently the app was not accurate, I was then charged for the missed appointment. I've been coming here for about four years, and I always feel like the Front Desk peeps are clearly not happy to be there. I would expect more. The Brickell location I never had an issue, but as standard at BLO the stylist are amazing, I've always been happy with their work. The cancellation policy is a little strict but this has been the trend in the industry over the last few years. Thats OK. Which I have a pretty good record of canceling appointments and rescheduling, life happens. But based upon my cancellation history, I was no longer welcome back. Not a no-show history, but a cancellation and rescheduling history. So moral of the story if you want to stay in their good graces, don't reschedule, don't cancel! That's OK. Happy to go elsewhere.

Ashlie, We are always disappointed to see a review that is less than five stars. Especially, when it is unsurprisingly less than 100% accurate, and a tad bit snide. However, we understand the tone, as we would imagine it’s never a good feeling to hear you are not welcome back someplace, which by the way, is never an easy decision for a small business. I scheduled for a blow out and iron work. I only waited for about 2 minutes. Anthony did my hair and the result has been my absolute favorite of the many blow outs I've gotten. I really recommend this location, and particularly Anthony. I'm about 30 minutes from the Aventura location but am willing to come here more regularly because I was so satisfied with the result!

Could not say one bad thing about this place!
The owner Eric was fantastic and even offered me a refill on my white wine. Maria, my stylist took her time to create a beautiful red carpet type blowout. Did I mention that I was a few minutes late since I thought the place was in the mall? I'm from California and I love Blo there and I love Blo here too.
I'm in town for a conference and the hotel shuttle dropped me off very far from where this place was located. A nice taxi driver came to my rescue and brought me here. The salon peeps were happy to accommodate me and very kind throughout.
Thank heavens for good franchises and for blowout bars. They truly save the day. Eric even offered me a small discount when I mentioned that I visit the Blo in La Mesa, California frequently. I am in North Miami about once a month and was dreading having to find a good place for my blowouts when I'm here. I have very long, thick blonde hair that is normally very frustrating if someone is not used to working with my type of hair. I called to see if there is anyone who is good with my kind of hair (especially on a Monday, when oftentimes salons have newer or more junior stylists because it's a slow day). The receptionist was very sweet and ensured me she would match me with someone who would be great with my hair.
Cynthia was an absolute pro - so attentive and detailed about everything, every step of the way from shampoo (she was totally nice about my request to mix blonde shampoo with regular) through whole process. I never once had to look up from working on my phone to make sure everything was okay. She made me feel comfortable and confident that she could do my hair with my eyes closed. Sooooo thankful I have someone great to see here in Miami.
And yes the rest of the reviews are true - the staff genuinely thinks the owner is fantastic :-). I did a lot of volume hiring for another well known quick service hair chain and this was so refreshing to hear (and definitely the reason this is a popular location).

Had a great experience at this locations blo bar! Like that it has accessible parking. Had my hair washed nicely and thoroughly. Then she was going to curl my hair , but I saw that it wasn't necessarily coming out as I would like- I have long curly hair so not easy for everyone to style. I ended up having her blow dry it pin straight and she did a lovely job!

I have been a Blo customer for more than 8 years. Have a membership and always used several locations around Miami . Mainly Brickell and midtown prior to it closing . I never ever complained about anything. Everyone that has helped were always sweet and accommodating. Also great styling ! I went to this location last month and had a great service and blow dry . I moved from Brickell to Bal Harbour so I was happy to come here . I even bought a new wow dream coat and left at this location ...I saw when they marked my name because I lend the front desk lady the sharpie .
Unfortunately today was horrible . First the front desk lady could not find my dream coat ....did not offer any option on helping ...why would i say I have one ....
Then she " took me to my stylist " who was on her phone . Had wireless earphones on her , she ended her call while she was was putting a towel around my neck . She did not say hi , nor introduced herself and just said : how you want your hair ? . She asked to sit and as she started to wash my hair she asked : why you are late ? You should have called , I have other customers ...I was 8 mns late and the FD lady did call me I said I was parking ...I straightened my back and the stylist said "come here " I did not feel confortable at all ...she was rude to me and showed no gratitude to a customer .
I am so sorry but she needs customer service training ASAP . As a result I have cancelled my membership and please refund my dream coat . I wish you all all the best I'm sure you have other great stylist ( clearly )

We are always disappointed to see an unhappy guest. We have spoken with the rest of the staff that was working that day as well as reviewed the security video. We are sorry to hear you won’t be back. Awful service. Women on the reception was very rude and customer oriented.
I called to make appointment, she answered me that I can come at 2.30 (after 15 min), I came and she told me that some one booked that time
she didn't told me that I had to book appointment online I lost my time and didn't have blow dry and already didn't have time to go to another place...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
