Barre classes are the place for you to come and find yourself in any capacity. That could mean coming for a workout, an escape, a community or a mix of it all. When you are on your mat, that is your own personal domain. Nobody can come in or out without your permission. Own it! Take advantage of this hour as you won't get it back. Give it your all. And through it all, BREATHE. You know your instructor won't let you forget that one... We also offer Iyengar Yoga taught by a disciple of Iyengar himself and a terrific Cycling class.

Q:
Is there a new app and/or website? My app isn't showing any classes available at either location?
A:
I don't know the answer but something seems to be up. Website is suspended. App shows no classes. No Facebook posts since August. I emailed them and didn't get a response. I have 17 classes left on a 20 class pass, so hoping this is just temporary.

I was introduced to barre through a Yelp event held at Pure Barre in Eden Praire. I wasn't sure I wanted to sign up so I decided to try Barre Bliss since they had a 10 class special on Groupon.
The instructors are great! Barre cardio on Fridays in Uptown, with Robyn, is the best. She pushes you and you know you're going to have an intense session. My muscles are super sore afterwards. I've never had my calves worked so hard I nearly cried getting out of bed the next day from the soreness. Bottom line, you feel good about your workout. She's awesome, and is definitely worthy of 5 stars herself for her class.
Unfortunately, I have no desire to return. The studio is unwelcoming with all of their rules. It's like you're a child. When you register you get an email with 10 bullets points on what not to do, and it's posted everywhere at the studio. It's basic stuff like don't talk on your cellphone while working out, no chatting, no heavy lotions, etc. Common sense stuff.
First day of class I went to the SLP location, mapquest reports it's 15 minutes from my office. I left 30 minutes early and got stuck on hwy 100 with the construction. I arrived a few minutes before class. I parked in the back lot and rushed to the front. Another girl was behind me and followed me, she was also new. When we got to the front door, there was a sign that said the entrance is in back. Funny, maybe they should put that in their welcome email.
We ran to the back, we got there at EXACTLY 5pm and the door was locked. We looked at each other feeling stupid. We knocked since we could see the class hadn't even started and people were walking around. The instructor opened the door and told us we were lucky we had her otherwise we'd need to leave. Horrible first impression.
The next class I arrived an hour early and waited in the parking lot. I was so terrified of the embarrassment of getting turned away. The next eight classes I arrived at least 30 minutes early.
I want to be stress free to start my workout, not stressed about getting there and making sure I know all the rules. I've signed up at Shape Me Group fitness instead where there's a variety of classes, and no worry of being scolded.
I've read some of the responses from the owner for other reviews with constructive criticism, and the responses seem pretty defensive. That's fine. I'm entitled to my opinion, and this studio is not for me.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Anya N.Eden Prairie, MN0235Aug 10, 2018

There is a reason that barre classes are super popular right now - they transform your body leaving you with more strength, shape and tone. It is really the only workout that has helped me lose weight and get the kind of tone that makes me look and feel good.
A few years ago I used to frequent Align Pilates, but they are no more. I've tried a few other studios, but have decided that Barre Bliss is for me. First, they don't overheat the room. I'm sensitive to heat and don't enjoy doing a barre or cardio class in a room that is 85+ degrees, let alone 100. I do just fine generating my own heat. The studio at Barre Bliss is just right. Second, being focused on barre means that there is usually always a barre class when I want it. You could go everyday if you were that awesome! Third, the teachers are really good and the classes feel supportive. It's a nice, positive environment. Finally, I think the classes are pretty affordable, particularly if you buy a pass or membership. As soon as I use up my groupon, I will be signing up!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

I've been going to Barre Bliss for a few years now and love it. I started with a Groupon, then bought a yearly membership. It's my favorite place to workout. I grew up getting my physical activity from dance classes and high school dance team. After college, it was hard to get back into a routine, as I don't like to go on runs or work out on my own at a regular gym. Barre Bliss is perfect! Even though I grew up dancing, I know that other people have not and have loved barre workouts. Barre Bliss embraces everybody and cares about your health and well being. The instructors check you in, so they know everybody's name.
I really like Barre Bliss, Barre Bliss Cardio, Bliss Yoga, and UGI. They have other classes like kickboxing, Iyengar yoga, cycling, Barre Bliss Candle Light, and Barre Bliss Basics. Meredith is my favorite teacher for sure.
They first had an Uptown location on Bryant, but moved to a much nicer building on Harriet, still in Uptown (I think they moved about a year ago). It's super nice and updated (it even has showers). Then they got a second location in St. Louis Park. This one is nice too, but there is a karate studio next door, so sometimes you can hear little kids yelling. It's never that bad though. Kinda funny. I would recommend bringing a full waterbottle with you. They don't have a water station at this studio, so you have to fill up your waterbottle in the sink.
I loved Barre Bliss so much that I asked if I could help them with their social media. I now help them out with that while also taking their classes a few times a week.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janna H.Saint Paul, MN343Jan 8, 2016
I love Barre Bliss! I began taking barre classes about 2 years ago, and started at Barre Bliss about a year ago. From the studio I was at previously, Barre Bliss is such a breathe of fresh air! It's welcoming for everyone, no matter your size, shape, strength, or physical background.
At the Uptown studio, I am obsessed with Emilie's Thursday night candlelight class! It's the perfect mix of yoga and relaxation, and muscle burning barre work. When I'm feeling ambitious, I take Chris' cardio class and get my butt kicked. It's sounds silly, but it makes cardio fun!
Do be sure to sign up for class ahead of time, especially in the winter months! I recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early, so you can relax, get your mat set up in a place you want, and settle in before class.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - helen s.San Francisco, CA733Sep 5, 2015
Got there five minutes late for an 8:30 am Saturday class (through class pass). Shad shook his head at me through the closed door and pointed to the exit. Like a small child pointed to their time out corner. The class was doing ab work on mats in bright light, I don't think my entrance would have disturbed some mystical yoga sensory experience.
Anyway, my fault for being late. But not sure if shaming potential new customers is a great business practice... I won't be going back. But if you go you better be on time!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Please ask for Matt if you decide to give us one more chance. We value you and your patronage. Thank you for your time. - Jenny P.MN, MN2132Aug 30, 2015
I lucked out and received a private for my first Bare Bliss Basics class with Lisa. What a treat, and I'm so glad I took this class first!
She took a real interest in my needs and abilities, focused on form first and maintaining a mind-body connection, and was super encouraging while secretly kicking my butt. I worked up quite a sweat.
I am feeling the effects the day after yet can't wait to get back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Cool studios to check out! I have taken 2 barre class and 2 cycle sculpt classes.
The cycling class is my favorite and a great workout. You spend the 1st 20 minutes or so doing exercises with the UGI ball, followed by the rest of the time spinning.
I have not found the barre classes to be as challenging vs other barre classes I've taken but I've only done 2.
The uptown studio is very cool, and the SLP location is nice also but I recommend adding a better solution for filling your water bottle in the SLP location....seems like a miss for classes to be $20 each but to have to fill your water bottle under the sink in the bathroom.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jennifer D.Minneapolis, MN1205852Sep 24, 2017
I signed up for a free week at Open Streets, and I was instantly hooked. I have taken a lot of barre and tried different studies throughout the Cities. This is by far a perfect fit for me. I love the mix of yoga, Pilates, and ballet, and even though the workouts are simple to follow, they are consistently challenging. Each instructor brings a different personality and perspective to the workout. Classes are small, so there's lots of personal attention. And they have a point system and participate in my insurance's plan discount, which keeps me focused on my goals.

Every time I attend a class I find it very rejuvenating. The positive attitudes of the teachers are contagious and uplifting. The practice of barre has taught me increased mindfulness, to challenge myself, and how strong my body can be. Thanks Barre Bliss!
