I really enjoyed the Gi class today. The instructor (I think his name was Will) noticed what I could do to improve and gave good constructive feedback. Another student helped when I asked for details on how to improve something too. Everyone seems skilled and knowledgeable. The only thing I would change is that it would be better to have the full schedule upon signing up for the trial. I should note that my experience in the No Gi class was very different, so this feedback is specifically based on the Gi class. For No Gi (Monday), which I am new to, it would have been helpful to have form correction from the instructor, as I'm not used to no GI grips or guard retention styles. Also, no one asked me to roll other than the one other woman in class so I sat out the last round, which was disappointing as my goal is to learn. There could be many reasons for this, but for small women in a male dominant space or new people in general, its often challenging to feel like they have a place in BJJ. I would have hoped the instructor would help new students (especially women) pair up and feel welcome rolling.Arthi Y.
