I was gifted , and now had , my very first 90-minute massage today, with Dawn. I don't think I have ever felt quite this relaxed in my entire life!
Driving by, you would never know what Treasures await inside. From the Tranquil Water Garden in the back, complete with hot tubs, to a really relaxing atmosphere, this place is peace on earth.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Glenn S.Asbury Park, NJ3417844Apr 4, 2024
This place is great. My wife got me a gift card for here and I spent it all on the unwind package. Dry brush, then a hot coconut oil and hot stone massage, then a foot scrub then you end it with soaking your feet and drinking tea. Not too shabby. I had Rachel for my therapist and she is the best. I highly recommend you check this place out.

My husband and I had a couples massage at Alchemy yesterday 5/6/23. We chose this place based on all the excellent reviews as well as ok the recommendations of several neighbors. I don't know what happened because we did not receive this excellent service that everyone has raved about and to say the least it's overwhelming disappointing.
We arrived early as it was our first visit. We had filled out paperwork online including a "message to our therapists." Upon arrival we were not offered any refreshments, there was a very pretty water container but I did not see cups nor did the receptionist offer for me to help myself. They did not explain to us what time we should expect our therapist to come get us and we ended up just sitting there for about 20 mins. I'm not sure why they scheduled us to arrive at 11:45 if the massage wasn't going to begin until 12 AND they were not going to use that time to have a consultation and they Certainly did NOT read our notes to therapist which both said that we would like Full Body including Face and Scalp.
Once the therapists came to get us they spent moment literally asking us what brought us in today (which they would have known had they read our paperwork) and when I explained to my therapist, Viktor, that I had a knot on left side making my neck tight, he said to me "It's working just as it should." He had not even touched my body yet and it made me feel like he couldn't care less what my issue was.
The massages were basic and exactly the same on both sides, no customization, no attention to the areas we specifically asked attention. Neither therapist touched our faces. I understand if this is something they don't do, however being that we specifically asked for it, would have been too much for them in the beginning to at least explain we don't do faces?
At the end of our 90 mins massage (which was at best around 80 mins hands on, again ok but should be explained up front) we were not greeted with a cup of water.
Neither therapist asked about the table temperatures or their pressure at all during the massage. Never once did they say please let us know if you'd like more or less pressure. We paid for both deep tissue and aromatherapy. Neither therapist put their hands over our faces and asked us to breath in the essential oils, my husband didn't even smell his. I could barely smell my lavender. I appreciate a light scent however I've had aromatherapy before and they always waft the smell over my nose and ask to me to take deep breaths. Very underwhelming. And my therapist was completely barefoot. I find that to be slightly unprofessional.
I lost sleep over spending nearly $500 on this. ALSO when I booked the price on the website was $360. They did not tell us during the booking process that this price was going up to $370. I have the screen shot of the price from when I was researching it, and honestly had the massages or the whole experience been better I wouldn't care but since we were so disappointed we were also perturbed by the additional $10. We did go ahead and tip our therapists actually more than 20% even though we found their services underwhelming. We just expected More from such a highly reviewed establishment. We will never return and could never recommend. $500 is a lot for a middle class family and could have been money well spent Elsewhere. We've definitely had much better experiences from chains like massage envy at fraction of the cost.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - 24154253Feb 16, 2023
This place is very tranquil from the bamboo swaying in the wind to the warm embrace the staff give upon entering, the music, the atmosphere. I was here for the second time for a garden pass - the use of the tubs and sauna but this time I got a foot soak too (which includes tea). The locker rooms have everything you could possibly need. Ample parking, very easy to find. Definitely recommend.

Been a few times don't get anything special other than standard things. Their massage oils suck. Not that quiet either it sits on a busy road.

I read all of these positive reviews and decided to try this place out, despite the high prices, but was surprisingly disappointed. I even drove an hour away from my home because I wanted a higher end place for a relaxing massage at the end of a stressful week. I made a reservation for a 60 min total body deep tissue and arrived on time. The ambiance was nice and I was excited to get started.
The masseuse asked what I wanted done when I went in. I reminded her deep tissue and I told her my pain points on my back. I changed and the masseuse immediately started trying to upsell services. She mentioned that next time I should get the 90 min massage. Ok, fine, maybe I would, let's see how this one goes first. She said she liked to get started with the front and asked if that's ok. I said fine with the understanding that she would focus on the areas I noted. Her style was more like normal massage with moments of deep tissue. I am used to deep tissue being that way for the duration of the massage. She did some deep tissue on part of my back but by the time our time came to an end she had addressed the focus points at my lower back that I had mentioned in the beginning. She said our time was up and next time I should get the longer massage or do a focused area massage.
I have had many deep tissue massages before and 60 min should be plenty of time to focus on a back. Also why would you sell a 60 min total body deep tissue if that is not sufficient time for you to complete the service? Maybe you shouldn't suggest starting with the area opposite to what your client requested if you can't do a total body massage. It seemed like a tactic to sell a longer time slot to me just because she mentioned that multiple times. On the way to the register she said I should really get massages more often. Even when I was paying the masseuse came down and tried to sell me accessories on the way out the door.
Ultimately I was left paying $150 for a massage that didn't meet the mark and feeling pestered to spend more the entire time. Next time I will try a more affordable spot, closer to home.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie D.Mount Laurel, NJ704Jun 4, 2023
One of the best spas I've ever been to! Very tranquil with the outdoor gardens and many little seating nooks throughout the main level to fully relax you until you're ready for your service. A friend and I started with a private hot tub hut in the garden with tea, and then had our 90-minute integrative massages. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I have gotten a lot of massages over the years and this one was among the top 3, with an exceptional ambiance, too! I'll definitely be back.

I had an anti-aging facial, foot soak and alchemy massage. The esthetician and massage therapist were fantastic. It was a peaceful day even though the spa was busy.

A nice quiet place away from the bustle for a massage at a price. Very pricey but you get what you pay for. If I had more disposable income I would probably make this a regular stop.
Couples massage with my wife for her birthday. Great clean room and super comfortable massage. I haven't tried any other services there but if you have the funds, it's worth the visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sylvia K.Edison, NJ152Jun 23, 2023
